The Backup Online solution allows efficient, reliable and secure data backup. There's no need to manage a local backup, as everything is done "online", automatically and systematically, through the IRISnet network. The backups are stored, secured and encrypted in the Regional Data Centre.
Real-time data recovery with the Backup Online solution
The Backup Online solution guarantees the security, availability, integrity and real-time restoration of data. There is no need to worry about losing local data, as it remains available at all times via the centralised management console hosted at Paradigm. The data is restored in one simple operation, without the need to shut down the system or reinstall the operating system. Different recovery procedures can be proposed, on a case-by-case basis, and after a feasibility analysis with the partner, depending on the particular situation (large volumes of data, change of architecture, for example).
Benefits of the Backup Online service
The Backup Online solution has a number of benefits:
- extremely short data recovery times;
- primary backup: the data is replicated, in duplicate, on the two sites of the Regional Data Centre;
- backup scope: the backup covers a wide range of data/server combinations. An agent is installed on each server to be secured, according to the type of data to be backed up: file, database or image of the server itself. The cost of the service is not dependent on the number of secure servers;
- volume: few constraints on the volume to be backed up, in terms of both cost and bandwidth;
- confidentiality: data is encrypted before transmission, throughout storage and when restored. The level of security is much higher than any of the local solutions generally used;
- access security: all backups remain strictly localised on the IRISnet regional network. The segment of the Regional Data Centre that hosts the data is protected against external intrusion: only an IP address from the IRISnet network allows access;
- security of the solution: backups are kept on disk for reliability. Each backup results in the reconstitution of the image of a complete backup of the data in the Regional Data Centre. There is permanent access to this image via the internet, using a console and an encryption key.
In conclusion, Backup Online allows you to obtain a secure copy of data and of virtual or physical machines. It also allows makes it possible to control and retrieve data easily via the Backup Online management portal (for the Virtual Data Centre and the local infrastructure).
