Inauguration of the regional CCTV platform

The regional CCTV platform was inaugurated on 14 July in the presence of the Secretary of State in charge of regional, municipal IT and digitalisation, Ms Bianca Debaets.

The inauguration follows the installation of the platform with an initial participant, the West police zone (Berchem, Ganshoren, Jette, Koekelberg and Molenbeek).

Implementing this overall CCTV project gives the Region a valuable tool to improve the coordination of actions on the ground, follow up incidents in real time and prevent and combat delinquency and terrorism.

The Brussels government aims to integrate 2,900 video-protection cameras in the Brussels-Capital Region by 2018.
