This 24 June, the commune of Woluwe-St-Lambert becomes the 19th and final municipal authority in Brussels to adopt Nova, the platform dedicated to the management of planning permission and environmental permits for the Region, the communes and Bruxelles Environnement.

The Nova platform is the result of an initiative taken by the regional public service Brussels Urban Development (formerly AATL). Based on an internal application launched in the early 1990s, the foundations of the current platform were gradually laid and Nova went into production in 2005. The BRIC very soon added its technical expertise to the platform. It also played a vital role in facilitating the federating process between the Nova partner administrations.

In 2008, the Nova commune module was deployed in five pilot communes:  Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, Etterbeek, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Schaerbeek and Watermael-Boitsfort. Since then the success of this deployment has persuaded the other Brussels communes to join the platform, as well.

Consult the BRIC Cahier No 31 for more information about Nova (French - Dutch)

The BRIC congratulates the Nova team: Khalid Abdi, Zoltan Bekeffy, Johan De Pessemier, Henk Dewyspelaere, Steve Hendrick, Rita Himpe, Nicole Jelinski, Pascal Labye, Christian Plasman et Zouhaïr Wafik !
